Finally!  Two looks that I really like and hence grabbed the snapshots of from Tokyo Street Style, which I dub respectively as ‘Subdued pink rock at Harajuku’ and ‘Laid back sophisticated at Omotesando’.

On the girl: A good balance of female sensuality and boyish charm. I’m digging the sporty black with white stripes socks, grey cotton vest, hot pink back pack and denim shorts. Hot pink is always a fun accent next to grey, white and/or black. And as I’ve learned, denim shorts are a girl’s best friend during stuffed tummy days because you can get away with any kind of loose fit shirt since you bare your legs. (In my book, if you’re baring a whole lot of your legs, baring your arms makes you look overexposed.) The wildcard color comes from the lilac sneakers which offers passersby an unexpected pop.

On the guy: Immediately drawn to the grey sandals, then the crisp white round neck tee and sleek black shorts. Ultimately a very simple but refined look. Not completely sold though by the matching bronze shades and shoulder bag. First because of the color and second because the pair kind of leaves an impression to those who are paying attention of a well-thought of ensemble. I would have gone for a small and satiny black back pack and ditched the shades. That would have made the look still seem effortless. Sans the bronze, the purple scarf would have nicely capped the whole look as it complements the color of the sandals. Girls can copy this look by wearing a tight white top and replacing the grey sandals with grey patent leather flats.
